Bed and breakfast in the Kleinwalsertal valley

Organic, authentic & pretty laid-back

There are plenty of bed and breakfasts in Vorarlberg. But not that many where you feel a bit at home after just two days.

The Breitach Hus is a small bed and breakfast in the Kleinwalsertal valley. With 12 rooms, lots of wood, a large kitchen – and a breakfast that truly lives up to its name.

Here you’ll find organic produce, good coffee and no stress in the morning. And if you like, it doesn’t have to stop at breakfast.

A communal kitchen that can do more

Whether planned or spontaneous, you’re welcome to cook in our new communal kitchen at any time. We’ll provide the ingredients (spices, vinegar and organic oil) and you do the rest. As we all know, the best parties always happen in the kitchen. P.S.: We have a range of organic products for sale. Of course, you’re also welcome to cook using your own ingredients.

Homemade cake

As well as a fantastic breakfast buffet featuring the finest ingredients, Mami Christl bakes cakes every now and then at the weekend. Fancy a cappuccino with that? Always a pleasure!

Organic breakfast at Breitach Hus

Our organic breakfast buffet is available daily from 7.45 am to 10.00 am. Take your time, no rush, no need to “hurry down before everything’s gone”.

By the way, coffee is available from 7.00 am – right through to 5.00 pm. During breakfast hours, the cappuccino is on us, of course.

And yes: everything is organic. Not because it’s a trend, but because it simply makes sense to us.

A week before your arrival, you’ll receive our ‘Have a Good Trip’ email with all the information you really need. No long-winded texts, we promise.

Water station, coffee & honesty bar

Please leave your plastic bottles at home. We have a water station where everyone can get free water – still or sparkling. The main thing is no plastic bottles. We also have a coffee machine and an honesty bar, stocked with healthy juices, beer and wine. It works like this: you help yourself to whatever you want – and simply write it down. It works surprisingly well.

Half-board at Oswalda Hus

My husband runs the Oswalda Hus (a 20-minute walk away). They serve a freshly cooked set menu every day (except Sundays). Meat or vegetarian. Both are a real treat. Of course, there are special rates for Breitachhus guests. That goes without saying 😉

Questions & Answers

Is this a traditional bed and breakfast in the Kleinwalsertal?

Yes. But organic, with a kitchen, and without that stuffy boarding-school atmosphere.

Is it really all organic?

That’s right. Because the Breitachhus is certified organic.

Can I use the communal kitchen at any time?

Yes. Just pop it on the kitchen rota, and that’ll work for everyone.

Is breakfast only available, or is half-board also an option?

Breakfast here is quick and easy. Alternatively, you can go to Oswalda Hus in the evening at special rates (a 20-minute walk). Just let us know.

What time does breakfast start?

Daily from 7.45 am to 10.00 am

Is there a bar or drinks available?

Yes, but it’s a self-service bar. It offers all kinds of chilled drinks, and our coffee machine is available to all guests from 7 am to 5 pm. Plus, there’s a water station where still and sparkling water is available free of charge.

Is there really a large self-catering kitchen?

Oh yes, she’s the pride and joy of mine. You can use her for free. You just need to sign up on the kitchen rota at reception so that everything runs smoothly.
